Nothing much to say today other than the fact that this has been a stressful week. But, I was able to get a little sketch time in today. So I suppose it could have been worse.

Thriller Night

I was hoping to create a series of 3-4 posters, themed after one of the greatest music videos of all time. It was taking way too long, so I was only able to complete 2 of them. They didn't quite turn out as I hoped. I will probably have to fix them up a bit before they go in my portfolio.

New Logo Design

Alright, the logo I have been working on is done. There were some changes to the hair color and some cleanup work that I did since the previous version. This was a fun one for me (I had quite a bit of creative freedom). Now for business cards, letterhead, etc., etc., etc... ; )

Illustration Friday

For this weeks topic of "flying" I thought it would be interesting to draw what it would be like for someone (or something) who would hate flying but was forced to. I imagine most people think how amazing it would be if they were able to fly. I personally think it would be great. But what if you couldn't stand it.

This blog and portfolio website was a great idea!! The first day I posted I got some work out of it. Anyway, I won't say much about the project until it is finished. But, here are some initial illustration concepts from that job (a redhead girl wearing sunglasses). After multiple sketch ideas I colored 3 different versions with different levels of detail.

It's Friday again! This week seemed to go by really fast. I don't have any work that I can post just yet...so in the meantime I am posting an oldie but a goody (at least for me). Here is a piece that I did a long time ago. I was really into M.C. Escher for a while and this was a self portrait that was inspired by one of his works.

Wednesday Sketch

I haven't posted anything in a couple days. I have gotten busy this week both at work and at home. When it rains it pours (well it rains anyway). So, I don't have any new work to post. But, when I was looking through some old stuff I came across my sketchbook from my graphic design school. I had sketched a buddy of mine as we were sitting in class. It was a quick sketch (most of my sketches are done pretty quick). I wonder if he remembers this...

Sidewalk Chalk

Today was another hot day. So of course my daughter and I decide to spend some of it outside doing some sidewalk chalk. We don't have a lot of colors to choose from, but we usually have a lot of fun and come up with some interesting stuff.

The bricks on our back patio were a good grid for getting some balanced designs.

I have to say, she is getting pretty good. She made the sun all by herself.

Whooohhoooo!! It is Friday!! I can't wait for this weekend to begin. It was a long week at work, plus I have been working on getting this blog started AND getting my portfolio up online. All around a rather busy week. Anyway, I thought that I would start the weekend off right by posting some sketch work (just random stuff)
